How to take baby out of bath - he cries when i take him out?
My 1 month old loves his baths, he is so calm and content and happy which is perfect because I'm trying to get him into a routine before bed. He loves being in the nice warm water. He starts getting sleepy which is excellent - BUT the second I remove him from his bath it turns into WWIII.
I try to be as quick as I can about getting his diaper and sleeper on him, and the bathroom heat is turned on so it's not cold, but he just shrieeeeks! It kind of negates the whole purpose of the bedtime bath. He goes from a happy, sleepy baby to a red screaming ball of thrashing fists and feet.
How can I go about transitioning him from the tub to his diaper & clothes ready for bed without all hell breaking loose? Any ideas?
I should have mentioned - I do get him into his hooded bath towel the second he's out of the water, and wrap him up & cuddle him before getting his diaper etc - he still screams.
My daughter is the same way...she loves bath and she is sooo happy while she is in the water, but as soon as I take her out she starts crying...I think it's just the temp change, even if the heat is on, it's still a bit cooler out of the water. My daughter always goes to sleep after her bath, I guess the soothing nighttime bath and then crying just makes her sleepy. Sorry I don't have any advice...I have the same problem...good luck!
